Top talent lined up to appear in new season

Comedians, musicians, dancers and children’s entertainment are among the varied lined up for the new season of The Core at Corby Cube.

An extra date has been added for sharp-witted Irishman Ed Byrne, due to popular demand. Fellow Irish comedian Jason Byrne brings his frenetic style of lunacy to The Core with his latest show 20 Years a Clown. There will also be appearances from Fred McAulay and Nish Kumar.

Keith Barry presents a show featuring mind control while Luke Jermay shows off his mind-reading skills.

Music highlights include folk duo Foster & Allen, The Searchers, Lindisfarne and the legendary The Bay City Rollers starring Les McKeown. Matt Munro Jr celebrates his father’s music in The Matt Munro Story. Bip Wetherell returns with Strictly Sixties show, featuring headline band The Foundations and special guest Adam Whitmee as Billy Fury, alongside performances by The Tornados with Mr Bip on vocals.

Theatre performances include the 14th century classic The Canterbury Tales, with a fast-paced mix of physical theatre and music. Eastern Angles Theatre Company presents its acclaimed New Town Musical Parkway Dreams.

There will be a tour-de-force performance LA actor Miles Allen takes audiences on a rip-roaring ride through a cult TV show called One Man Breaking Bad – The Unauthorised Parody.

The Core’s new director Nick Walker has written Macbeth - Blood Will Have Blood in a schools performance.

Celebrated dance artist Akram Khan presents Chotto Desh (pictured), meaning ‘small homeland’, drawing on his unique quality of cross-cultural storytelling, with a magical mix of dance, text, visuals and sound.

A glittering family treat for ages three and above, What the Ladybird Heard is a brand new stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Lydia Monks’ colourful farmyard adventure, packed with live music, puppetry, audience participation and laughs. The children’s book, Aliens Love Underpants comes to The Core as a special Christmas treat and has stunning effects, madcap action, original music (and aliens of course).
