Open garden event in Desborough tomorrow

A cottage in Desborough which boasts the world's largest collection of penstemons is hosting an open garden event tomorrow (Sunday, July 26).

Froggery Cottage at 85 Breakleys Road will open their huge one acre garden to the public to raise money for Desborough causes.

The event takes place from 11.30am until 5pm with entry costing £2.50 and free for children. Dogs are welcome and refreshments and plants will be on sale.

All proceeds will be equally divided between the Desborough Town Welfare Committee and Marlow House day centre.

John Lee from Froggery Cottage said: "We hold the world's largest collection of penstemons with some 435 different varieties on show including some new hybrids raised by ourselves and this time of year they are looking their best.

"A large number of different varieties will be available in the plant sale.

"The one acre garden also consists of a large pond, tropical garden and large borders full of rare and unusual herbaceous plants."
