A sit-com almost entirely peopled by puppets will take to the stage at the Lighthouse Theatre, Kettering, when ventriloquist Paul Zerdin brings his show to town.
He has pushed the boundaries of puppetry and built up a show full of colourful characters providing some naughty humour.
Amongthe characters are sprightly old-timer Albert who raises hell and ruins Paul’s love life. Another character is Paul’s sidekick, gobby teenager Sam who wants to branch out on his own.
Be warned though, if you are expecting to sit back and watch you might get a surprise. Unwitting audience members can become part of the show too.
Paul has had much critical acclaim for his performances, not only for his technical ability, which has been described as ”immaculate”, but for the relationships he portrays with the characters which the Guardian said had “the dramatic tension of a real-life double act”.
The show is on at the Lighthouse Theatre, Kettering, on Friday, September 12, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £17.50 or £15.50 concessions. To buy tickets visit the website at lighthousetheatre.co.uk or call the box office on 01536 414141.
