A play all about keeping your spirits up in a hospital can be seen at East Hunsbury next week.
A Kiss on the Bottom is staged at the Abbey Centre from Thursday to Saturday March 16 to 18..
Three women are in East Glamorgan Hospital receiving treatment.
Grace is old and world-weary, nearing death. Lucy is foolishly self-deluding. And then there’s Marlene, hopelessly optimistic.
Each woman must cope not only with the uncertainties of her health, but with the inevitable secrets and half-truths which are maintained by relations and nursing staff.
It’s up to Marlene, the strongest and most outspoken of them all, to lift the atmosphere.
It’s a task that comes easily to her – you could say she has the gift of the gab – and soon she is forcing herself into the private lives of Lucy and Grace.
Louise Harrison, Lisa Robinson and Dee Hale play the three lead roles.
