A comedy of “frayed nerves” and “bloated egos” comes to Northampton’s Royal & Derngate as its Made In Northampton season continues with God Of Carnage.
Featuring a cast, which includes Cutting It star, Sian Reeves, the play which has garnered awards like the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play and Olivier Award for Best Comedy, will be on the Royal stage from tomorrow.
After two 11-year-olds Ferdinand and Bruno are involved in a playground punch up, their well-meaning parents call a meeting to discuss the matter in a civilised manner.
However, as the meeting progresses and the wine starts to flow, all good intentions evaporate and chaos ensues. Boys will be boys...but the adults are usually worse.
Translated by Christopher Hampton, this look at middle class values, is written by Yasmina Reza whose other well-known plays include Art and Life x 3.
The cast also includes Melanie Gutteridge, best known as PC Emma Keane in The Bill and is completed by Simon Wilson, whose credits include many stage credits and appearances in TV comedies including Thick of It and Miranda. God Of Carnage is directed by Kate Saxon, and can been seen from Friday, until Saturday, November 10.
Tickets priced from £28 to £13 can be booked by calling Box Office on 01604 624811 or at www.royalandderngate.co.uk.
