Four of Rudyard Kipling’s fantastical Just So Stories will be brought to life when Red Table Theatre’s acclaimed production arrives at The Core at Corby Cube on Saturday.

Performers will attempt to enchant the audience’s imagination as they convert ordinary household objects into an array of colourful creatures and unforgettable characters.

They will be telling the classic stories of The Crab That Played With The Sea, How The Camel Got His Hump, How The Whale Got His Throat and The Elephant’s Child.

A spokeswoman said: “These delightful tales will show children why the moon pulls the tides and the reason why the elephant’s nose is so long. Grown-ups will get the chance to share stories that they may well have grown up with too.”

Red Table try to encourage storytelling fun by continuing beyond the show, with time at the end to meet the actors, try on costumes and take away activity sheets. The group’s website also features more stories for bedtime reading.

The show will take place at 11am and 2pm and there will be pre-show craft sessions at 10am, midday and 1pm. Tickets cost £6.50. Call 01536 470470. The show is recommended for ages four and upwards.
