There is a new venue for watching drama in the county and the first play to be
performed is an adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride And Prejudice.

Beckworth Emporium in Mears Ashby is hosting the performance by Heartbreak Productions.

The award-winning garden nursery which has a restaurant and shop has been hosting an ice rink every winter and has decided to put on a summer event too.

Beckworth’s owner David Brown said: “We were just so excited when we heard about the theatre company and realised that this would be a wonderful way of offering some summer time entertainment to our loyal customers.”

Those attending the show will be encouraged to dress up in period costume and there will be prizes for the best bonnets.

Pride and Prejudice is being performed at Beckworth Emporium on Friday and Saturday, August 1 and 2.

Pre-production drinks are served at 6.30pm with the performance starting at 8pm.

Audience members can also pre-book a picnic.

Tickets, which include the welcome drink, are priced at £20 and can be ordered online at www.premium
