One show coming to the Royal & Derngate this weekend will hopefully be a roaring success as it uses clever puppetry techniques to bring dinosaurs to life.

A smash hit from Brisbane to Bahrain, Dinosaur Zoo is said to be an interactive and imaginative live show, suitable for all the family.

Audiences are introduced to a range of creatures, from baby dinos to teeth-gnashing giants, including the fearsome Australovenator, based on the most complete dinosaur skeleton found in Australia.

A spokesman said: “During the show, audience members who are brave enough to get close to the dinosaurs are brought on to the stage to assist the zookeeper in her daily tasks but, be warned, not all of these ravenous reptiles are as tame as they seem. If they would rather, children can watch wide-eyed from a distance.”

Erth, the company behind the show, has performed internationally at events and festivals including the Sydney Olympic Games opening ceremony in 2000.

Dinosaur Zoo will be performed on Sunday at noon and 2pm. Tickets cost £13.50 or £16. Call 01604 624811 or visit Recommended for those aged three and above.
