Performance poet Kate Tempest tops Lyric Lounge at Core

Top performance poet and playwright Kate Tempest is to headline the Lyric Lounge at The Core at Corby Cube tomorrow.

Kate will be supported by up-and-coming young local musician Caitlin King in the evening of entertainment which includes internationally renowned artists, live literature performances, music, film, open mic sessions and workshops.

Poet, playwright, Radio 1 regular and winner of the prestigious 2013 Ted Hughes Poetry Award (for Brand New Ancients), Kate is due to take to the stage at 8pm to deliver a blistering 50-minute solo performance.

Earlier in the evening, from 6pm until 7pm, Kate will be leading a quick-fire workshop on performance techniques, which provides a chance to interact with one of the UK’s most successful female performance poets.

There will also be a drop-in Visual Poetry Workshop between 4.30pm and 7.30pm.

From 6pm there will be a chance to see the film We Are Poets (12A).

Live performances start at 5.30pm with a 30-minute slot from The Core’s resident poetry collective The Stand.
