A heroic tale of adventure and dementia will be performed at The Castle in Wellingborough next week.

Finding Joy is being brought to the stage by the company Vamos Theatre, following on from its sell-out performances of Nursing Lives.

Joy is creative, funny, loves to dance and is losing her memory; meanwhile, her grandson Danny is rebellious, fearless, bright and always getting into trouble. The story explores what happens when, out of the blue, Danny makes the decision to become Joy’s carer.

But where will their unexpected and playful bond lead them?

Vamos Theatre has an individual style of storytelling involving the wearing of masks by performers.

A spokesman said: “Vamos Theatre creates innovative full mask theatre that brims with visual inventiveness, music, puppetry, dexterity and hilarity. Finding Joy is based on life events and true stories and is a funny, moving and heroic tale of adventure and dementia.”

The play is recommended for audience members aged 12 and upwards. It will be performed on Tuesday, starting at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £12.50 or £10.50. Call the box office on 01933 270007 or log on to
