The absurdities of everyday life will be taken on by comedian Jimeoin when he brings his latest show to The Core at Corby Cube on Tuesday.

Raised in Portstewart, Northern Ireland, Jimeoin moved to Australia at the age of 22, where he became a hit on the live comedy circuit, starred in two feature films and hosted his own TV show.

A spokesman said: “His shrewd observational comedy, rascally charm and gift for facial expressions have since won him legions of fans in America, Europe and back in Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

“Inspired, sometimes surreal, musings on the everyday are Jimeoin’s speciality. He manages to wring tears and belly laughs from hitherto overlooked subjects such as revolving doors, toes, cheese, socks, lifts, newspapers, queues, barmen and binliners.

“A master of deceptively laid-back delivery and spontaneous banter, he has also been known to produce a guitar for a poignant tribute to his kitchen or a musical testimony to the effects of eating asparagus. Now settled in Melbourne, Jimeoin’s UK tours are a rare treat for comedy fans.”

The show will start at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15 or £13.50. Ring 01536 470470.
