A multi-sensory adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s children’s story Crazy Hair will be staged at the Royal & Derngate next week.

The fun begins when Bonnie finds herself so fascinated by Mister’s wild hairstyle that she decides to try to tame it. However, Mister feels his hair is misunderstood, and a bizarre adventure unfolds as Bonnie and her comb jostle with puppets, pirates, hunters and hot air balloons, a musician and a mischievous monkey.

A spokeswoman said: “This enchanting show is a delight for all the senses, with memorable songs, fast-moving action and the audience brought right up close to the performers.”

The show is presented by theatre company Bamboozle, whose past credits include the puppetry for Royal & Derngate’s 2011 production of Alice in Wonderland.

Crazy Hair comes to the theatre from Wednesday, April 3 until Sunday, April 7, with performances at 11am and 2pm daily. Both performances on the Thursday are specifically for families with children who have special needs.

Tickets cost £6.50 and can be booked by calling 01604 624811 or visiting
