Classic comic drama is a real education

A classic piece of comic drama by John Godber is going to be at The Castle in Wellingborough.

Teechers is being performed by the Blackeyed Theatre Company, who return to the venue to perform the show later this month.

The play is a high-energy comedy set in a comprehensive school and is all told through the eyes of Salty, Gail and Hobby who are three Year 11 students about to leave school for good.

It brings to life the terrifying teachers and the hopeless pupils.

We meet Mr Nixon, the new drama teacher who might be lured away to a green and pleasant private school, along with Miss Prime and Mrs Parry.

Teechers is a modern classic with something vital to say about education for the “haves” and “have nots”.

Teechers is on at The Castle on Wednesday, February 25. Tickets are priced £14 (£12) and can be purchased by calling the box office on 01933 270 007 or online at

Age guideline 12 years and over.
