Blood Brothers back on Derngate stage

A show which brings people to its feet so often it has been dubbed “the standing ovation musical” returns to Derngate later this month.

Willy Russell’s Blood Brothers has been winning awards and pleasing audiences ever since it was first produced nearly 30 years ago.

This production stars Maureen Nolan in the role of Mrs Johnstone and is directed by Bob Tomson and Bill Kenwright.

Blood Brothers tells the moving story of twins who are separated at birth and grow up on opposite sides of the tracks. But they are reunited by a twist of fate and their mother’s secret.

The score includes the songs Bright New Day, Marilyn Monroe and Tell Me It’s Not True.

The muscial has been performed more than 10,000 times in London’s West End and has scooped four awards for best musical in London and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway.

Blood Brothers takes to the Derngate stage from Monday, March 24, to Saturday, March 29, with performances at 7.30pm each night and matinees at 2.30pm on Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets are priced from £32.50 to £15.
