Fans of song and dance routines will no doubt be flocking to a stage tribute to Broadway at The Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering on Saturday.

Broadway and Beyond features a selection of song and dance from a century of the finest shows to emerge from the heart of New York’s theatre district.

Brought to theatres by Clearer Productions, the show is said to be a ‘breezy, all-dancing extravaganza’ with a mix of music, movement and wit.

Eight versatile West End professionals perform the show, including three actors and five musicians.

The production includes music from such shows as Oklahoma!, South Pacific, Cabaret, Chicago, Spamalot and 42nd Street, as well as some lesser known creations such as Pal Joey, Betsy and Little Johnny Jones.

Composers such as Mel Brooks, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Stephen Sondheim and the Gershwins are all featured in this evening of entertainment which looks set to be a must for all theatre-goers with a taste for musicals.

One reviewer wrote: “Slickly choreographed, radiating pure joy and bringing each character believably to life, the three versatile troubadours cruise majestically through a whistlestop tour of songs culled principally from lesser-known off-Broadway productions.

“There is indeed nothing like a Broadway show, and there can be few more absorbing ways to enjoy them that this polished performance during which my feet barely stopped tapping.”

Tickets cost £14, or £13 for concessions.

The show will start at 7.30pm.
