Theatre-lovers will be hoping for some good weather this weekend as the first of three productions in Northamptonshire country parks is due to take place.

The first performance will be a play entitled Alice - An Extraordinary Adventure, staged by Heartbreak Productions at Brixworth Country Park.

Audiences are invited to join Alice at her “extraordinary birthday tea party” as Lewis Carroll’s tales of Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through The Looking Glass are blended in a fast-paced production full of magical adventure.

This show will be held on Saturday at 7.30pm, although visitors are invited to arrive earlier to enjoy a picnic and pre-show entertainment.

The company is also due to stage two other performances in country parks throughout the summer. Dracula will be performed on Sunday, August 11, and Romeo and Juliet will be at Barnwell Country Park on Saturday, August 17; both at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 or £8. Audiences are advised to take low-backed seating, rugs, extra clothing and picnics. Tickets available from A torch would also be useful to help visitors find their way back to cars.
