There will be no time to pause for breath when a theatre company takes to The Castle theatre in Wellingborough to perform all 37 Shakespeare plays in 97 minutes.

An irreverent, fast-paced romp through the Bard’s plays is promised when the Reduced Shakespeare Company arrives in Wellingborough with its new production The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) (revised).

The Reduced Shakespeare Company is a three-man comedy troupe which takes long serious subjects and reduces them to short, sharp comedies.

These madcap men in tights weave their wicked way through all of Shakespeare’s comedies, histories and tragedies in one wild ride aimed at leaving audiences breathless with laughter.

The company’s original The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is London’s longest-running comedy, having clocked up a very impressive nine years entertaining audiences in the city’s West End at the Criterion Theatre.

A production spokesman said: “This show is a high-speed rollercoaster-type condensation of all of Shakespeare’s plays and is not recommended for people with heart ailments, bladder problems, inner-ear disorders, outer-ear disorders, Shakespearean scholars, degrees in Elizabethan history and/or people inclined to motion sickness. The RSC cannot be held responsible for expectant mothers!”

The show will be performed at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 13.

Tickets cost either £16 or £14 and can be bought by calling the box office on 01933 270007. For more information, log on to the theatre’s website, which can be found at
