A strange haircut in Fringe comedy at the Core

Eccentric of dress, bizarre of haircut and absurd of comedy, the acclaimed Paul Foot is set to bring his hit Edinburgh Fringe show, Words, to The Core at Corby Cube on Saturday.

Recently, Foot’s anarchic television appearances on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Russell Howard’s Good News have brought him to the edge of the mainstream, but he has been honing his apparently chaotic surrealism on the live circuit for almost two decades, having won both the BBC New Stand-Up Award and the Daily Telegraph Open Mic Award back in 1997.

A spokesman said: “With a degree in mathematics from Oxford, a haircut that could only be modelled on Slade’s Dave Hill and a penchant for a silver leather jacket, wide tie and slacks, Paul Foot is a true original. No fewer than six national papers have hailed him a comedy genius. His dress sense and manic wordplay have been a huge influence on the likes of Russell Brand and Noel Fielding, who directed his sell-out shows in London and Edinburgh in 2010-11.”

Paul Foot will perform his Words show at The Core at Corby Cube on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £13 and can be booked by calling 01536 470470 or visiting the theatre’s website, www.thecorecorby.com.
