The premier food and drink event in the county starts this weekend and promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The Northamptonshire Food Show @ Holdenby starts on Sunday and continues on Monday.
The show features a mix of local, regional and other fine quality food and drink producers and suppliers, and this year will also feature Holdenby’s housekeeper and head gardener, Matt Hughes.
He will be giving a guided tour around the Kitchen Garden, which will be followed by a cookery demonstration by Holdenby’s chef, Sarah Favell, whose dishes use ingredients straight from the garden.
Also at this year’s show is the ‘Masterclass Marquee’, where visitors will be able to learn a culinary skills directly from the experts.
Led by lecturers from Northampton College, it includes a selection of classes which will be taught in short sessions. All of these courses are available at a small additional charge.
There is also a cookery line-up of Northamptonshire finest chefs, including award winning chefs such as Lee Gaskins, head chef from Highgate House, and Hao Dang, from Dang’s Vietnamese Restaurant. In addition to foodie fun there are also children’s activities and a falconry display.
Holdenby House is also open both days, admission is included in the entrance fee. The Food Show is open from 11am to 5pm each day.
Tickets cost £7.50 for adults, £6.50 for concessions and £3.50 for children. A family ticket costs £20 for two adults and three children. Under five years are free.
