The shell of a VW Golf is just one of the quirkier items incorporated into sculptures going on display today in Guilsborough.
The work by University of Northampton graduate, Leah Maycock, is among 30 sculptures on show at Guilsborough Court, in Cold Ashby Road, in an event entitled, Sculpture with a View, organised by British Art Portfolio.
British Art Portfolio is the newly-launched brainchild of University of Leicester Art graduates, Amanda Lowther and Louise Newton.
Based at the Guilsborough Court gallery, they travel around the country exhibiting in private houses and galleries.
Other artists from around the country are involved in Sculpture with a View, including graduates from the Birmingham School of Art and the Northampton School of Art and Design, and established professional artists.
Some of the names involved include Felicia Fletcher, Luke Dickinson, Lloyd Fairhurst and Alex Shorey.
Amanda said: “We have quite a few sculptors on our books and wanted to have some of the younger ones involved too.”
The event will continue until September 30. Opening times are Mondays to Saturdays, 11am–6pm. For more information log on to www.britishartportfolio.co.uk
Admission will be £2 for adults, but children go free.
Visitors will also have the chance to enjoy a view over Hollowell Reservoir while visiting the art.
