Former winner of The X Factor, Joe McElderry, headlines The Lighthouse Theatre this weekend.
McElderry, who won the sixth serious of the hit ITV show in 2009, was most recently seen on Channel 4 winter sports show, The Jump, which he won.
The singer’s first single, The Climb, topped the UK single charts and was followed by his debut album, Wide Awake.
His second album, Classic, was released by Universal Music and went Gold within two weeks of release.
It reached number two in the UK Album Charts and sold more than 250,000 copies.
In 2011, another album, Classic Christmas, went gold in just one week with McElderry clocking up more than 550,000 albums sales in year.
The same year, McElderry went onto win the second series of ITV’s Pop Star to Opera Star.
His fourth studio album, Here’s What I Believe, was released in 2012 and featured a collaboration with soprano Marcella Detroit, from Shakespears Sister, international pianist Ludovico Einaudi and Nashville NAMMY Songwriter of the Year, Beth Nielsen Chapman.
McElderry has also recorded the single One World One Song with Dionne Warwick in aid of The Hunger Project UK and version of Abide With Me with the Royal Mail Choir in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
