The hits of iconic American singer Tina Turner will be performed on The Castle stage next week when internationally acclaimed tribute show Totally Tina heads to town.
The award winning production aims to re-create the spectacle and energy of one of Turner’s shows with a six piece band, dancers and Justine Riddoch’s interpretation of the queen of rock and soul.
Riddoch headlined the Glastonbudget Festival last year and is currently touring theatres across the country.
Rather than being a biography of Turner, this show focuses on her live concert career, replicating scenes from various tours during the last 50 years with custom twists and turns created by Justine and her cast.
Justine has been singing professionally for more than 22 years and has worked extensively in theatres and on national TV.
She is also a much sought after session vocalist for some of the biggest record labels in the UK.
In her early career Justine could be seen treading the familiar cabaret scene.
However, it was in 2002 her career would change direction after she won ITV's Stars in their Eyes as Anastacia.
She went onto spend six years touring the world with her Justine is Anastacia show before transforming into a Tina Turner tribute.
The show begins with early hits with Ike Turner, going onto feature songs including River Deep, Mountain High and journeying through to Tina’s solo comeback in the 80s with her cover of the Al Green classic Let’s Stay Together to her massive solo hits like Simply The Best and What’s Love Got To Do With It.
Tina Turner has won eight Grammys and sold more than 200 million albums.
Totally Tina is at the Wellingborough theatre on Friday, April 1. Doors open at 7.30pm, tickets cost £18.50.
Tickets are on sale for Tad Newton's Jazzfriend's who return to the venue on Thursday, April 7. For more information about all shows and to book, call 01933 270 007 or visit at www.thecastle.org.uk
