A FUND-RAISING rock jubilee jamboree takes place in Kettering this weekend.

The two-day event takes place at The Swan (formerly Sawyers) and will feature a mix of rock, metal and ska.

Bands including Burning Crows, Headrush, Wobbly Bob, Toadstool, Fighting Evil is Cool, Black Acid Souls, Fantasist, The Manic Shine, Spiral Dive and rock DJ Ebony B will be raising the rafters in aid of Help for Heroes.

The weekend will also feature reduced drinks prices, a barbecue and plenty of other surprises.

One of the event organisers Louise Cuzner, of Thrapston-based SoundBar Entertainment, said: “This jubilee event will bring Kettering some incredible music as well as raising money for a charity that’s close to all our hearts.”

Baljit Sekhon, who runs The Swan, said: “This venue is well known on the rock circuit and we want to keep it there.

“We want our customers to relax and enjoy great live music.”

The Jubilee Rock Jamboree is on June 2 and 3.

Tickets are available from The Swan in Montagu Street, Kettering.

They cost £4 per day in advance, £5 in advance for the whole weekend or £6 each day on the door.
