Moons to end tour at Roadmender in Northampton

The Moons return to the Roadmender in Northampton on Saturday night for the final show of their UK tour.

The band has been out across the country, touring in support of their latest album, Mindwaves, which was released earlier this year.

The LP follows Fables Of History, which was released in 2012 and their 2010 debut, Life On Earth.

Mindwaves, which features the singles Body Snatchers and Heart And Soul, was recorded at Paul Weller’s Black Barn Studios.

Speaking previously to WOW about the record, frontman Andy Crofts said: “The songs remain strong and very melodic. That’s our sound at the end of the day.

“Mindwaves is a progression forward from the previous albums.

“I had been listening to a lot of old electronic music, especially by Deliah Derbyshire, who was a pioneer in the early electronic music world.

“Without trying to make complete electronic songs I just played around by adding some strange noises and synth sounds to the tracks adding textures and colour.”

Following this Saturday’s gig, the band will join up with The Rifles for shows in Birmingham and London in November.

Doors open at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 in advance.
