Stuart Marson tops the bill at the Great kNight Folk Club on Tuesday, as part of the club’s third charity show.

Marson is one of the finest singers on the UK folk scene.

He first came to prominence in the 1970s, appearing at the Cambridge Folk Festival and featuring in the BBC Radio’s Folk on 2 series.

Over the years, his songs have been performed and recorded by other artists, including Fairport Convention and Roger Whittaker.

More recently, Marson’s songwriting has reflected a regional identity, with a focus on the folklore of the East Midlands.

The proceeds raised will be donated to The Brain Tumour Charity and Prostate Cancer Research.

The GkFC is on Tuesday, April 29 at The Old White Hart in Far Cotton, Northampton. Doors open at 8pm.
