Saxophonist and composer, Carlos Lopez-Real, and his band, Mandorla, will perform their vibrant range of electro-acoustic jazz at The Castle in Wellingborough this week.
Lopez-Real’s band features John Turville on piano, Dave Mannington on bass, and Jon Scott on drums.
Together they impress with their electro-acoustic music, with emphasis on strong melodies and grooves.
Carlos is a composer, whose many influences range from classical to the singer, Bjork, and Indian improvised music and is also a vibrant improviser and an arranger of substance.
As well as performing with Mandorla, he is also in a duo collaboration with singer Brigitte Beraha, involving live looping and live sound processing and is the founder of the e17jazz ensemble, the East London-based collective spawned out of both F-IRE and LOOP.
They promote regular gigs, commission new music, and won the 2012 Waltham Forest Arts and Culture award.
Lopez-Real and his band, Mandorla, play on Thursday, June 6.
Tickets cost £12.50 and are available by calling 01933 270007 or visiting www. thecastle.org.uk
