The hits of Jake Thackray will be brought back to life by John Watterson at the Great Knight Folk Club on Tuesday.

Jake´s songs are funny, satirical, incisive, irreverent, witty and gloriously un-PC.

Watterson, who performs as Fake Thackray, first saw and met the singer in 1974.

When he learnt of Jake’s death in 2002, he decided the songs were too good not to be kept alive, so he set about learning more of them and performing them live.

John has previously performed at a memorial evening in Monmouth attended by Jake’s widow, and two of their sons.

The Great Knight Folk Club is at the Old White Hart in Northampton on Tuesday, September 3.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets cost £7 in advance.
