I’m going to veer off the usual classical themed introduction this week and just wallow in the wonderful Twinwood Festival I attended recently, it was an experience I’ll never forget.
The variety of bands, orchestras and artists performing music catered for all tastes.
The audiences danced the day and night away in authentic period outfits and uniforms.
It was like being in a time-warp.
During World War Two Twinwood Airfield was an RAF training base, during this time, Glenn Miller and his orchestra were based in Bedford.
The Glenn Miller Museum had wonderful photographs of the band on their tours and also of famous stars of the time.
