Singer-songwriter Billy Lockett has been revealed as the main stage headliner for this year’s Northampton Music Festival.
More than 60 acts will play across seven stages when the event returns in June and today organisers have announced full #details of who will be playing.
In the past 12 months, Billy Lockett reached number 40 in the UK album charts with his second EP Pathways and number one in the iTunes Singer Songwriter Charts.
He was also play-listed on BBC Radio 1, toured in Europe with Indie pop superstar Birdy as well as supporting Scottish acoustic icon KT Tunstall, Lana Del Ray and Nina Nesbitt.
All this was on top of selling out his own UK tour.
Lockett will also be playing at The Isle of Wight and T in the Park festivals this summer.
BBC Introducing Northants will be hosting two stages at the Department of Liquor & Social Affairs in Bridge Street while the NN Café’s courtyard will be hosting folk acts.
Northampton College will also have its own stage with music from students past and present in the courtyard of the Black Bottom Club.
The festival has been supported by Northampton Borough Council as well as Northampton BID.
Northampton Music Festival is on Sunday, June 22. Musicians will be playing on stages across the town centre with the main stage acts performing on the Market Square stage.
Music will run from midday until 9pm and admission to all venues will be free.
