The seventh annual Arnold Festival celebrating the life and work of the prolific Northampton-born composer Sir Malcolm Arnold takes place at Royal & Derngate this weekend.
Sir Arnold’s music was popular during the 1950s, with his work having a major influence on 20th century British music.
The festival will include the world premiere of comic opera The Dancing Master.
As well as numerous recitals and performances, two days of shows include talks, while John Griff will launch the festival at 3pm on Saturday. Tickets for the Gala Concert on Sunday cost from £14 to £32.50, with weekend tickets for the rest of the festival at £12. Tickets for individual events cost £7.50.
