Top Irish comedian Jason Byrne is bringing his new show to The Core at Corby Cube next month.
He has been thrilling audience with his inimitable frenetic lunacy for the past 20 years and his latest tour 20 Years A Clown is coming to the venue on Saturday October 10.
Jason said: “The show is called 20 years a clown and we have just finished performing the show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
“We had more than 15,000 people come along and see it and the reaction was incredible.
“I think the audiences coming to see me kind of expect a bit of audience participation. In fact, I think if it wasn’t there then people would think they haven’t come to see me.
“There was one story which I love, I was doing some banter with the audience and there was this little old lady and she was on her own. She could only get one ticket and her husband was waiting out the front for her.
“I manage to radio the front of house and we managed to get him a seat. Meanwhile, this all been relayed to the audience and as he walks in, the whole crowd are chanting Arthur, Arthur. It was very funny for everyone there but I think bemused Arthur.”
He also speaks highly of the venue that he will be performing at.
“Corby is a venue that I have performed at before and one I really like. The audience were particularly lively. I have to admit I’ve only seen the theatre, I’ve not had a look around the town, that is the joy of touring. I shall try checking it out.
“Aside from working on the tour, I am currently doing the voiceover for a show on Sky called Wild Things. I’m doing the narration for that while I am on the tour and it takes a long time to do.”
Tickets for the show are £18 and it starts at 8pm. They can be booked by calling the box office on 01536 470470 or visit www.thecorecorb.com
