Folk supergroup entertain at Castle in Wellingborough


Folk ‘supergroup’ The Full English take to the stage at The Castle in Wellingborough this weekend.

The band is the result of a project by the English Folk Dance and Song Society.

The project, led by vocalist and academic Fay Hields, brings together a database of songs, tunes, dances and customs from around the world which The Full English breathe new life into.

Hields is joined by singer and fiddle player Nancy Kerr, award-winning singer-songwriter Seth Lakeman, guitarist Martin Simpson, double bassist Ben Nicolls and multi- instrumentalists Rob Harbron and Sam Sweeney.

The band received the Best Group and Best Album accolades at the 2014 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

Their tour celebrates the release of their debut album which contains the singles Stand by Your Guns, Arthur O’Bradley and Brigg Fair.
