Fancy yourself as a bit of a star in the kitchen? Love cooking authentic Italian food?

Italian food chain Ask, which has restaurants in Northampton, Leicester and Peterborough, is searching for the UK’s untapped pizza flaring talent.

Whether you’re a budding chef or kitchen whizz or can simply spin the best pizza base in style, now’s your chance to show off your skills!

As part of its #AllAboutTheBase campaign to launch its new spring menu, Ask is urging anyone in Northamptonshire who fancies themselves as a pizza flaring champ to step up and have a go.

Simply share a photo or short video of your flaring attempt with via Ask’s Facebook page or upload it to Twitter or Instagram, tagging @ASKItalian using #AllAboutTheBase.

The winner will receive a personal cookery lesson from acclaimed chef Theo Randall.

Corinne Prior from Ask said: “Great pizzas start with a great base and we’re extremely proud of our authentic pizzas.

“Our new spring menu sees the launch of the new sourdough pizza range which was inspired by a pizzeria we visited in Bologna.

“As with all bases, the dough needs to be proved properly to taste great and a neat way to test this is to flare it!

“We’re keen to see the flaring skills on offer in Northamptonshire and pick a champ – it’s all about the base!”

Competition finalists will be selected via social media votes, and a group of five fantastic flarers will be invited to the grand final at the newest Ask Italian restaurant in Manchester on May 12.

Finalists will be given the chance to show off their skills to a panel of expert judges including Theo Randall. All finalists will receive prizes.

Permission to enter the competition must be sought from those shown in the photograph/video. Please check the terms and conditions thoroughly before uploading an image/video.
