A solo exhibition of a new work by a Northampton artist can be seen in the town starting on Saturday.
The work of fine art student Angela Stanbridge is on show at The Charles Rennie Mackintosh House & Galleries at 78 Derngate. This exhibition demonstrate Angela’s obsession with the endless variety of patterns and shapes plus the intense colours of Dahlias.
She is a botanical artist who adds an abstract twist to her work that draws you to look at flowers in a new light. She has regularly has work selected for the Society of Botanical Artists Annual Exhibition in London and has been part of a joint exhibition at Rugby Art Gallery & Museum.
She said: “Nature is ever changing; there is beauty to behold in every step. Each of us has the choice of simply seeing a Dahlia or something much more. I love to take Dahlias and enhance their drama, which can allow you to view them in a completely different way”.
Entrance to their gallery is free and it is open from 10am to 5pm from Tuesday to Sunday. The exhibition is available from Sunday September 27.
