After a 15-year hiatus, UK Big Band Echoes Of Ellington are back on tour and head to The Stables this weekend.
UK Big Band fans from the 1990s will remember the Echoes Of Ellington as one of the great powerhouse jazz orchestras, balancing historical accuracy, virtuoso playing and an high performance energy.
The aim of the band was always to expose its audience to the power and emotions inherent in Duke Ellington’s music and they did this, touring the UK, Europe and United States.
Pete Long’s Echoes of Ellington is at the Wavendon venue on Sunday, June 21.
Doors open at 8pm, tickets cost from £19.50 before fees.
On Tuesday Martin Simpson, Andy Cutting and Nancy Kerr headline the venue.
