Fresh from her triumph at last year’s British Blues Awards, the ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ Jo Harman headlines The Castle in Wellingborough on Saturday night.
Harman is a British singer-songwriter influenced by blues, gospel, soul, country, rock and other ‘roots’ sensibilities.
She emerged initially as a ‘word of mouth’ independent and, last summer, released a new album, Jo Harman and Company – Live at the Royal Albert Hall, which was recorded by the BBC. The album received universally positive feedback and established Jo as one of the rising stars of the British blues’ scene.
Alongside her win as the ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ at the British Blues Awards, she was also honoured with three further nominations.
In 2013, she signed to V2, the home of acts including Adele and Mumford and Sons
Tickets cost £10 before fees and doors open at 8pm.
