Party-goers have a chance to celebrate the festive season in style – at a cost of just a single penny.
A Corby hotel is offering to lighten the economic burden of Christmas with an early present for those booking a party this month.
The Holiday Inn in Geddington Road, Corby, is offering spaces at its Christmas parties for just one penny for the third year running.
Events and conference sales manager Jessica Hull said some people calling the hotel to enquire thought the offer was too good to be true.
She said: “It is exactly what it says – Christmas parties for 1p.
“We have a certain amount to give away each night.
“It’s a first come, first served basis and when places run out per night they have run out.
“It’s so popular everyone thinks there’s a catch but there isn’t. People get exactly the same as everyone gets – there’s no difference at all.
“It was something we started doing two years ago to generate a bit of interest.
“It was so popular last year we have had a lot of people ringing back as they knew what they were getting but there has been quite a few new bookings.
“Afterwards people said they were so thrilled with what they had got.”
The hotel has a certain amount of places available per party night which it will be holding from November 30 and throughout December.
But party organisers had better book quickly as they are offered on a first come, first served basis and only available to be booked until May 31.
Each party is offered a certain amount of penny places if they are available on the night the group wishes to book. Parties do not have to be a minimum size.
More than 400 people have already signed up to attend a party, since the deal began on May 1.
Miss Hull added: “This year has a Winter wonderland theme and everything is decorated silver and pale blue. We have the smoke machines running so there is a great atmosphere on arrival.
“People have a three course Christmas-themed meal which they preorder and a disco until 12.30am.”
