Dancers take to the stage for first time

YOUNGSTERS from a county dance school have taken part in their first theatre show.

Members of the Hayley Nadine Dance Academy in Raunds took to the stage at the Lighthouse Theatre in Kettering on Saturday to show off their skills.

The performers range from three to 19-years-old and entertained the audience with all kinds of styles from ballet to street dance.

Hayley Nadine, who runs the academy, said: “It was amazing and we’ve had some really good feedback.

“We had 75 dancers taking part and they all outshone anything they’d done before.

“We do an end-of-year show every year but this was the first time we had done it in a proper theatre.

“All the coverage of dance acts on TV has increased interest over the past few years and for us it has brought boys into the school.

“When they see dancing on the television it is what they want to do.

“A few of our students have just left us after being accepted into stage schools so we have got some places available.

“I’d like to wish them all the best in the future and say well done to those who took part on Saturday.”
