DANCERS are set to take to the stage for a big dance-off at this year’s Raunds Music Festival.
The Raunds Music Festival is set to get under way tomorrow and will run until Sunday. The dance-off will take place on Saturday at Saxon Hall in Raunds.
This year the festival is featuring a significantly expanded programme in a bid to appeal to a wider audience.
The dance-off is the third competition of its kind at the festival and is for under-19s.
Festival organiser Teresa Storr said: “The dance-off has quickly become one of the main attractions for dance groups across Northamptonshire and our informal approach enables young people to experience a real dance competition.
“The standard is high and, although it is competitive with experienced judges, the fun element remains a really important part of the event.
“It is open to dance groups or individuals, performing dances of all styles from Salsa to Swan Lake to Street.”
As well as the dance-off, attractions at the festival will include dancers, including the Moulton Morris dance team, performing on The Square on Saturday morning.
The Jackie Oates Band will headline the Saturday evening concert and Little Johnny England will close the show.
Clive Gregson will be the festival’s featured artist on Saturday afternoon and on Friday night there will be dancing with festival favourites, the Northamptonshire quartet Ock’n’Dough.
