Venues to join town's festival

There will be acts playing at The Department of Meat and Social Affairs, The King Billy, The Black Prince, The Lab, The Albion Brewery, The Charles Bradlaugh and The Picturedrome.

The Hip Hop stage will be at the Department of Meat and Social Affairs with acts including HarQ, Leo Robinson, Audio Narx, Karl Phillips, Serena Leone, The Drunken Mandem and Jkaz perfomring.

The Black Prince will be hosting the Metal stage with Stormbringer, Full Contact, Torch The Witness, Stonepit Drive, Thrones, From Eden to Exile and Project: Mothra playing.

Promoter Skye Bertram James Day, said: “House Of Pain will be hosting the metal stage and man are we looking forward to it. Come one, come all. It’s time to metal.”

There will be a University Stage at The Albion Brewery Bar with Jenny Beckwith and Luke Civil, No Idea, Faye Clements, Freemantle, Spectrum, Kalashnikult, Jen Dobson, The Black Pot Blues Band, The Other Band, Woodside and Cigarettes and Saints playing.

Dr Nathan Wiseman-Trowse from the University of Northampton said: “We’re really thrilled to be returning to the Northampton Music Festival.

“It’s really important that our popular music students get to be right at the heart of Northampton’s musical community and Northampton Music Festival is a fantastic opportunity to show off what we do.”

The Rock Double All Dayer will be at The King Billy on the Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, Black Rose Society, Tokyo Sex Whale, Vulcan Reign, Padding Needed, The Furious Arcs and Feed Back Aftermath will play with Black Iron Priest, The Last Of Us, Stereo Skull, The Bophins and These Strange Explosions playing on the Sunday.

Other venues taking part include The Lab with Atlas belly, Smokey Green Offspring and The wax lyrical sound playing on the Friday Night.

Have Guitars Will Travel will also take place at The Charles Bradlaugh on June 17 and at The Picturedrome the following day featuring more talent from across the county.

Northampton Music Festival runs from Friday, June 17 to Sunday, June 18.
