Valentine's Day festival to return

The Castle Theatre's annual Valentine's Jazz Festival returns next week for three days of live music.

Starting the weekend in style will be the venue’s regular expert band, Tad Newton’s Jazzfriends – featuring special guest Vasilis Xenopoulos on saxophone. They play on Friday, February 12, at 8pm.

The following day, The Savannah Jazz Band will be playing a show of driving and exciting New Orleans-style jazz from 12.30pm.

They will be followed by one of the UK’s most engaging jazz ensembles, East Anglia-based DixieMix, who play at 8pm. Closing the festival, will be Sweden’s top traditional jazz band Mysto’s Hot Lips (pictured) who play on Sunday, February 14, at 12.30pm. They will be led by legendary trombonist Pider Åvall.

Most Popular

    Tickets to each performance cost £12.50 in advance with special Valentine’s Jazz Season ticket for £40 for all four performances.

    Members of the venue’s Friends scheme will also receive £1 off.
