slowthai teams up with James Blake and Mount Kimbie for new single Feel Away

slowthai has released his new single Feel Away which features singer-songwriter James Blake and electronic duo Mount Kimbie.

It’s the latest track by the Northampton rapper and follows Magic, Enemy and BB (BodyBag) which were all released earlier this year.

Talking about the single, slowthai said: “This song is about the doubts we have whether it be within friendships, your partner or with our family.

“It’s about putting yourself in the other person’s shoes so you have a better understanding of the situation.”

slowthai has dedicated the track to the memory of his brother Michael John.

The track is a departure from the abrasive style of the rapper’s past hits like Doorman and Inglorious and his upbeat collaboration with Mura Masa - Deal Wiv It. Feel Away is instead built around a repeating piano loop and accompanying beats.

The video, which was directed by Oscar Hudson, shows slowthai pregnant in a maternity ward.

slowthai featured on the Disclosure track My High in June. His Mercury Prize nominated debut album Nothing Great About Britain was released last year.
