Limited edition prints featuring acts including slowthai and Andy Crofts and ‘Save Our Venues’ t-shirts are being sold as part of a music venue’s bid to survive the Coronavirus.

Like other pubs and music venues across the country, The Black Prince in Abington Square is temporarily closed.

However, the posters and t-shirts are the latest way supporters can help the venue through this period of uncertainty.

Promoters manager Phil Moore said: “For every t-shirt sold we will receive the whole £20 because the Music Venue Trust will cover the costs of fulfilling the order.

“The posters highlight who has come through the door in recent times and again, we will receive all the money from the sales.”

The prints are A3 size and as well as Northampton natives slowthai and Andy Crofts also feature Look Mum No Computer and Hands Off Gretel who played at the venue last year as part of their UK tours.

They are available via TBC Merchandise and like the t-shirts, the venue will receive all of the money from the sales.

Mr Moore added: “Local acts are on all of those bills and the diversity we support at the Black Prince is all there to see. Grime, electronic, punk, indie-rock and singer-songwriters.

People are desperate to get back to ‘real-life’ culture and socialising and venues like the Prince are central to that in a town like Northampton.

“We do grassroots activities built from the community up.

“Our role is not just making noise - I know people who have met in 15 Abington Square and ended up getting married.

“Every penny donated is there to keep us afloat so that when we are allowed to return to what we do best we are actually still able to. And who doesn't like a decent gig poster on their wall.”
