Organiser Jo Burns-Russell said: “This year’s semi-final was amazing, the bands all worked so hard in what is a really face paced and stressful gig environment.

“I was overwhelmed by the professionalism and talent on show.

“I can’t wait to see some of these young musicians develop to play the main Northampton Music Festival this year.”

Judges from across the industry chose who they thought should progress through to the final, as well as providing every band constructive comments about their performance.

The final will take place on April 2 at the Roadmender with a range of prizes on offer including recording time, promotional material and the chance to perform at this year’s Northampton Music Festival.

The Factory, formerly known as The Y Factor, was started by Rotary Becket in 2004.

It’s aim is to help promote young musical talent from across Northamptonshire.

Previous winners include Ground Floor, Carly Loasby and Scott Walters

The 20 acts which competed in the semi-final made it through from a series of heats held during the year.

Organiser Yoshe Watson added: “It was so rewarding to see how much the artists involved pulled together to help make this event happen.

“There was so much talent on offer we wish we could have them all back.

“I’m really excited to see how the finalists step up their game for April.”
