Echo & The Bunnymen set to make Royal & Derngate return with headline gig next May

Liverpudlian duo Echo & The Bunnymen are coming back to Northampton next year and tickets go on sale tomorrow morning.

Echo & The Bunnymen will return to Royal & Derngate next year with their ‘Celebrating 40 Years of Magical Songs’ tour.

The 16-date tour returns to the Northampton venue next May and pre-sale tickets are available from tomorrow (Wednesday, June 24).

Echo and the Bunnymen comprise of singer Ian McCulloch and guitarist Will Sergeant.

They formed in Liverpool in 1978 with bassist Les Pattinson, shortly afterwards recruiting Pete De Freitas.

During their career, the Liverpudlian post-punk alternative band have released 13 albums.

Their debut Crocodiles was released in 1980, with their latest LP, The Stars, The Oceans & The Moon released in 2018.

Their most recent album was a compilation of reworked orchestral versions of tracks from across their career.

While many of the band’s albums released during the 1980s achieved gold and silver sales certification, their biggest single was 1992’s Nothing Lasts Forever.

They previously played the Northampton venue in November 2018.

A ticket pre-sale begins at 9.30am on Wednesday, June 24 via gigsandtours.com

Tickets then go on general sale at 9.30am on Friday, June 26.
