Captain Hook and Long John Silver will be at West Lodge Rural Centre for a weekend of pirate fun.

Children will be invited to walk the plank at the farm park’s annual Pirates and Princesses weekend.

The farm near Desborough will be offering a full programme of pirate-themed children’s activities starting today and running until Monday.

Pirates and princesses will be able to build a sand castle and design their own royal tiara.

Families can also take part in one of the special treasure trail walks and there will be prizes for the best sandcastles and best pirate and princess costumes.

Last year’s event attracted almost 750 children.

There is also a full timetable of activities around the farm, such as bottle feeding the lambs at 11am and 3pm each day, watching the piglet race at 12.15pm and taking part in the craft session from 12.30pm to 2pm.

You can also pet some of the farm’s smaller animals including chicks and rabbits.

Entry is £5.95 for adults, £4.95 for children and £5.45 for pensioners. Under twos go free.

The farm opens at 10am each day. F
