The Italian outfit head to Franklin’s Gardens having been thrashed 38-15 by Jim Mallinder’s men at Stadio di Monigo last weekend.

Saints scored six tries in the Champions Cup Pool 5 success, keeping them firmly in the hunt for a quarter-final spot.

But they know they must repeat last Saturday’s success this weekend if they are to keep the heat on rivals Racing Metro and Ospreys.

“We know Treviso will be hurting after losing on Saturday,” said forwards coach West.

“We need to regroup, look at what sort of players they’ve got to bring back in and what threats they posed us and where we saw weaknesses.

“We’ll work hard, do our analysis and make sure we’re as strong as we can be for next week.”

Saints’ success at Treviso was far more impressive than the one they enjoyed at the same venue back in 2009.

On that occasion, they edged to a 21-18 victory, failing to earn a crucial bonus point.

And West said: “Bonus-point wins are hard to come by in Europe.

“We’ve been here before and won narrowly, but didn’t get a bonus point.

“Ultimately, that was the difference between playing a home game or an away game so it means a big amount.

“We’re not complacent. We know they’re a good team, hard to overcome but we’ve worked hard and we’ve done that.”
