The duel between the England scrum-halves will be a key feature of the final as both look to get their teams on the front foot.

Youngs has blocked Dickson’s path on the international stage of late, keeping the Saints man out of the Six Nations reckoning.

But Dickson has a big chance to show what he can do this weekend when the two square up at headquarters on Saturday.

“There’s always that case, but I’m not worried about anyone else, I’m worried about myself,” said the 28-year-old.

“I’m going to play my game and make sure I get my forwards ticking. Personal battles are put to the side. I’m not worried about that.”

Dickson has never played for Saints at Twickenham before as the club have previously been unable to make the Premiership final.

But this time they have reached the pinnacle of English domestic rugby and Northampton’s No.9 can’t wait to run out alongside his club-mates on Saturday.

“It will be very special,” he said. “I’ve played the international rugby, but it’s going out at Twickenham with your mates, who you’ve worked every day with for 10 months.

“There are all the ups and downs of club rugby and running out in a final with them and all the boys leaving, but I don’t think that’s going to be a factor at the weekend.

“We’ve got to put emotion aside. It’s going to be a physical battle and we’ll have to make sure we turn up on the day.”
