Saints prop Waller impressed from the off, helping Stuart Lancaster’s men lay the foundations for victory.

Ben Foden scored the second try of the game, latching on to an Alex Goode grubber and superbly keeping the ball in play before dotting down.

Foden’s score added to hooker Joe Gray’s opener, with Saracens duo Brad Barritt and Goode also going over before half-time.

Anthony Watson, whose score was sparked by a clever pass by Saints fly-half Stephen Myler, and Chris Pennell completed a resounding victory.

Myler staked his claim for a start in Saturday’s third Test, with first-choice No.10 Owen Farrell to miss the game due to injury.

The Saints man will battle it out with Danny Cipriani, who started the game against Crusaders, and Freddie Burns, who started the first Test.

Lee Dickson will hope for a place in Saturday’s squad and he put in a steady performance in the midweek match.

Dickson will face competition from Ben Youngs to provide back-up to regular No.9 Danny Care.
