Saints prop Waller called up to England Saxons training squad

Saints prop Alex Waller has been added to the England Saxons training squad ahead of the game against Ireland Wolfhounds next Saturday.

Waller joins England Saxons EPS members Calum Clark and Sam Dickinson in the 25-man party for the showdown at Gloucester’s Kingsholm Stadium.

Waller’s call-up is reward for a fine season so far, with the Kettering-born loosehead stepping up for Saints in the absence of knee injury victim Alex Corbisiero.

The 23-year-old, whose younger brother Ethan is also making a big impression at Northampton, will now look to stake his claim for a place in England’s senior team.

The Saxons play two games this month, with the Ireland clash followed by a trip to face Scotland A on January 31.
